Instructions for Academic Applicants
The AIS Placement Service provides the opportunity for PhD Candidates and Faculty
applicants to post their resumes to their own Web pages and have them linked to
the AIS Placement Applicants pages, as well as to view university and professional
position announcements. Only those registered with the AIS Placement Service will
be given access to the Placement facilities at the America's Conference on Information
Systems (AMCIS) and the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS),
if they are also registered for the conference.
How Much Does it Cost?
For a fee of USD$75 for non-AIS members (FREE for AIS members), applicants' resumes
will be linked to the placement listing site and will be given a userid and password
to browse the following listings:
- University/Corporate positions listed alphabetically
- University/Corporate positions listed by primary research/teaching interest
- University/Corporate positions listed by geographic region
- University/Corporate position listed in order by date of posting
After registering for placement services, please allow four working days to process
the credit card or check payment and post a link to your resume. A receipt for payment
will also be mailed to you.
What Should I Do First?
Prepare your resume page as in the Student/Applicant Sample.
Your link will also be categorized by primary research/teaching interest. Choose
from the Job Category/Research & Teaching Specializations List.
Post your resume on the Web. Write the URL on the registration form exactly as it
appears on the web.
Now you are ready to sign-up AIS Placement Services
What Happens When I Accept a Position?
Please note the change in job status on your resume page. AIS Placement keeps both
applicants and positions on the listings even after positions have been accepted
and/or filled because it helps us track the progress of recruiting.
