I’m Ready To Post A Resume/Position, Where Do I Start?
As A Eecruiter, Follow The Simple Process Below:

  1. Prepare your Website first, as in the Job Posting Sample. Please assign the task of signing-up for placement to someone who understands Web pages. In order to register a university, it is vital that your company first create and post a standardized position listing on the World Wide Web (WWW). Your link will also be categorized by selected Research & Teaching Specializations needed. Choose from the Job Category/Research & Teaching Specializations List.
  2. After the position page is on the Web, then register for the Career Placement Service
  3. Fill out the on-line sign-up form and indicate the URL of the position page, NOT THE URL OF THE UNIVERSITY! For example, give the URL: http://www.university.edu/position.htm not the URL: http://www.university.edu
  4. Submit Payment

As A Job Candidate, Follow The Simple Process Below:

  1. Prepare your resume page as in the Student/Applicant Sample. Your link will also be categorized by primary research/teaching interest. Choose from the Job Category/Research & Teaching Specializations List.
  2. Post your resume on the Web. Write the URL on the registration form exactly as it appears on the web.
  3. Register for the AIS Career Placement Service
  4. Post your Resume and submit payment

How Do I Construct A Webpage for My Listing?
Constructing Your Own Page The following easy-to-follow instructions may be helpful in your construction of a web page without extensive knowledge of HTML.

  1. Click on the hot link for Applicant Resume or University Listing.
  2. Most browsers (such as Netscape and Mosaic) will allow you to save the HTML code of this Sample (Applicant or University) page in a local text file. Click on the File option on the main menubar on your screen. Choose the submenu option "Save as"(or "Save" in Mosaic) and type in the name of the local text file in which you would like to save the HTML code. If you use this capability, then please skip the next step (3) and proceed directly to (4).
  3. For browsers that do not have the local save option, the following sequence might accomplish the same objective. While viewing the Sample (Applicant or University) page, click on the option 'View' on the menu bar, then click on the submenu option 'Source.' This will show you the HTML code for the sample page. Using the mouse select the ENTIRE contents of this page and copy them to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl-C on your keyboard. Press Alt-Tab to flip to Windows Notepad or any other text editor and then copy the contents of the clipboard to a local file. Save this file.
  4. In the local file you just created using the instructions in steps (1) thru (3), leaving the HTML tags intact, just change the information given in various fields - of the file that you created - to reflect your specific information.
  5. Save the contents of the file in text mode. Your HTML file is ready to be uploaded to your local web server.
  6. After you have uploaded your page, you are now ready for on-line registration.
This sequence is found to work on most machines with Windows and Netscape, some commands could be different for your specific setup.

How do I make changes to my posting?
