The AIS Doctoral Student College’s Regional 1 Program Event titled "IS Job Market Unveiled: Navigating the IS Academic Job Market with Finesse" is a virtual panel discussion designed to offer mentorship and support to IS Ph.D. students who are preparing to enter the academic job market. The panel will feature recent IS Ph.D. graduates who have successfully navigated the job market process. They will share their valuable insights and practical strategies to help prepare doctoral students for a competitive academic job market. The panelists will discuss topics such as job market timelines, document preparation, initial interview preparation, and campus visit strategies. The panel will also provide a forum for doctoral students to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions about the academic job market.

About the panelists: 
Bright Frimpong is an incoming assistant professor at Washington and Lee University with a research focus on digital entrepreneurship, cultural values, and privacy. Bright is a HICSS doctoral fellow and a recipient of the inaugural AIS Entrepreneurial Innovation Fellowship.
Nasim Mousavi is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at Emory University. Beginning in Fall 2023, she will be joining Georgia State University as an assistant professor of Information Systems. Her research explores how companies can leverage technologies to enhance business outcomes and how these technologies impact consumer behavior. Hilal Pataci is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an incoming Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She worked as a research intern at IBM Research on several projects during her graduate studies. Her research mainly focuses on cybersecurity and financial technologies.
Yifan Yu is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at UW Foster and is an incoming Assistant Professor of the IROM Department at UT Austin McCombs. He received bachelor's and master's degree in Management Science at Tsinghua University. His research mainly focuses on the connection between ML/AI and customer behaviors. Currently, he is particularly interested in emotion AI technologies. Relatedly, he is interested in unstructured data analytics for marketing and financial innovations. He has published in ISR, MISQ, and major IS/marketing conferences.
